Ran Locate for Tesla

Works with Tesla. Send places to your car, find it, and share the route it's driving — from the app, Siri or Grok.

Connect in about two minutes

  1. 1 · Open Settings

In Ran Locate, go to Settings → Tesla → Connect Tesla.

  2. 2 · Sign in to Tesla

Tesla's own sign-in page opens. Allow every permission it lists, then wait to return to Ran. Ran never sees your Tesla password.

  3. 3 · Pick your car

Your cars appear. Tap the one Ran should use.

  4. 4 · Add Ran's key

Tap Add Ran's key. The Tesla app opens — approve it while you're near the car (about a minute). Done when the car row says "Ran's key is in this car".

Everything you can do

Send to Tesla, one tap

Tap a person on the map, a saved place in Places, or a job in Dispatch, then Send to Tesla. The destination lands on the car's navigation screen. A sleeping car is woken first, which can take up to 30 seconds.

Siri, hands-free

"Directions to Emily in Ran", "Take me home in Ran", "Directions in Ran" then say an address, or "Share my route in Ran". Siri never wakes the car and only sends when your phone is in it, so a family car someone else is driving is never redirected. Not in the car? Ran navigation opens on your phone.

Grok, ChatGPT or Claude

In the assistant, add Ran Locate as a connector (Grok: Connectors → Add Connector → Other, URL https://ranlocate.com/api/mcp) and sign in to Ran once. Then: "Send Emily's location to my Tesla", "Send Home to my car", "Where's my car?", "Where is my Tesla going?". Ran does all the talking to Tesla; the assistant never gets Tesla access.

Where's my car

Settings → Tesla → Where's my car tells you the nearest address, whether the car is parked or driving, and the destination and arrival time it's navigating to.

What Ran asks Tesla for

Vehicle information (your car's name and whether Ran's key is in it), vehicle location (Where's my car and the route it's driving), vehicle commands (putting a destination on the screen), and staying signed in. Ran never unlocks, starts, honks or changes anything else on the car.

If something doesn't go through

"Connect your Tesla in Ran first": Settings → Tesla → Connect Tesla. "Needs Ran's key first": Settings → Tesla → Add Ran's key, approve near the car. "Is asleep, so I didn't send it": Siri won't wake a car — tap Send to Tesla in the app. "Didn't wake up": the car has no signal right now. "You don't seem to be in your Tesla": Ran navigation opens on your phone instead.

Your car stays yours

Tesla sign-in tokens are encrypted and only Ran's server talks to Tesla. Your Tesla links to your Ran account alone; circle members can't send to it or see it. Disconnect any time in Settings → Tesla, remove Ran's key in the car (Controls → Locks), or remove Ran Locate in your Tesla account. Ran keeps no history of your car's locations.
