Your location belongs to you. We do not sell precise location data.
Information we collect
Account details such as name, phone, email, birth date, profile photo, device/session information, group memberships, messages, safety actions, places, and location or driving data you choose to share.
How RAN Locate uses information
To provide private group maps, invitations, alerts, routes, safety tools, business features you activate, account security, support, and product reliability. We do not use private movement history for advertising.
Your location belongs to you
RAN Locate does not sell precise location data. We do not share driving or location information with insurers without explicit permission. Each member controls sharing separately for every group, including precise, approximate, scheduled, temporary, paused, or arrived-safe options.
Who can see your data
Only authorized group members can see information allowed by your sharing settings and group permissions. Account owners and business managers must disclose applicable policies and cannot silently enable another adult’s location sharing.
Service providers
RAN Locate uses service providers such as Supabase for authentication and storage, Google Maps Platform for maps and address lookup, Vercel for hosting, and Twilio for configured phone verification or messaging. We require service providers to protect personal information consistently with this policy and applicable law and to process only the data needed to provide their services.
Background location and history
In the native mobile app, choosing Share all the time and granting Always location access allows RAN Locate to collect location while the app is in the background, the screen is locked, or iOS relaunches the app for supported location events. Points are queued securely on the device during temporary network loss and uploaded when service returns. If you force-quit the app from the iPhone app switcher, iOS prevents background relaunch and location history pauses until you open RAN Locate again.
Retention and deletion
You can export your data, delete location history immediately, select automatic history deletion, leave groups, revoke temporary links, or permanently delete your account from Account → Privacy & data.
Children and teens
A parent or lawful guardian should supervise accounts for minors. RAN Locate includes approximate zones, scheduled privacy windows, visible sharing status, and arrived-safe alternatives so family safety does not require constant precise tracking.
Security and limitations
We use access controls, row-level database security, server-side authorization, rate limits, and audit logs. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, and browser location may stop when the app is closed.
Changes and questions
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material updates will be shown in the app. Privacy questions can be submitted through Account → Help & support or by emailing support@raninnovations.com.
This policy applies to the RAN Locate web and supported mobile experiences. Workforce tracking must also follow applicable employment and consent laws.
